IF I WERE A KASHMIRI

I am a Kashmiri…will this statement be enough to introduce myself? No I don’t think it would be enough. May be I need to specify much more information about my state whether I belong to Kashmir under India or to Pak occupied Kashmir or Kashmir area under China…I think even that information  won’t help but  I should help myself by specifying  my religion if I am a Hindu or Musalmaan or a  Buddhist. Is this the scenario for the people of other places? Should a Bihari or an Andhrite give such a vast information about his statehood? Are we Kashmiris the only people with those many obligations? And to my greatest disappointment we the Kashmiris as a whole are the people who are suffering from the worst treatment for mankind in the world..The militants, The Army men and even the power hungry politicians every one can do whatever they want and we are the sufferers. I don’t mean that there is no fault on our side that is many of the people are also committing capricious things but many more of us are innocent and that is the point I want to make……          On 15th August when the entire nation is celebrating its 64th independence day we the kashmiris are not celebrating the nation’s most celebrated day and all of us are in an enigmatic state which is mainly due to the pathetic situation in the state caused by the militants and demagogues. Every part of India has been emancipated 63 years ago except for Kashmir and this audacious statement of mine is strongly supported by United Nations, according to whom the Kashmir under India is only partly free and Pak occupied Kashmir is not at all free. This statement alone shows the present situation of the state which is very well known for its sedate quietude. The state most often described as the land  for astute and ascetic people, in the proper Hindu sense a moksha centre i.e..a place where moksha can be achieved with a relatively less effort… is now in such a crisis. So what are the reasons for the present crisis? What are the factors that changed this heavenly place into a dungeon? And what are the necessary steps to culminate the dire situation in the state are the questions that need to be answered sooner than later………..
The state of Kashmir was one of the most serene and beautiful places in the world and it still is , but for the never ending boundary disputes between two nations which were together once. The important factors that turned this godly place into a god forsaken one as diversified as the people  present in the nation. The important factors apart from the above mentioned boundary disputes are 1. The infiltration of foreign militants  2.The religious fanaticism 3. The power hungry politicians and finally the people with callous, insouciant attitude and there is another threat that is reasonably well concealed and probably the most hazardous one that is the Chinese planning to occupy the state. Each and every factor is rampant in the state’s present situation and every factor should be addressed and then only we can at least try to improve state’s clime.
The dispute between India and Pakistan on Kashmir is an old one but there is no solution that could satisfy both the nations. Both India and Pakistan want entire Kashmir for themselves. And even there is no chance for the intrusion of a third party as India is firm in its stand as the issue is bilateral and as an independent, powerful nation now it has become. India is not in a position to give power to a third nation and this does not seem like something wrong to us. And on the other side the Pakistanis, unable to match the Indian might are taking the help of Taliban terrorist community and that started the problem. The militants, trained in Afghanistan are being infiltrated into Kashmir through Pakistan occupied Kashmir and they are causing havoc not only in the state but also in the nation. Apart from this problem, the religion and its fanatics are also a major cause of worry because two-thirds of the state are Muslims and one-third are Hindus and there are enough tensions between both the communities mainly due to the partialities of the governing bodies. And then comes the most important class of people, the politicians and in my view they are the most apathetic living organisms who are so much egocentric that they do not consider others problems for even a microsecond. I am ill equipped with words when I start writing about the capricious, avarice personified politicians. That does not mean that there are no good politicians but here I am talking about the eloquent politicians who make articulate speeches but are exactly opposite to their altruistic behavior. And I don’t have any doubts that the separatist movement which has gained significance in the past few days is the brainchild of one or more of such demagogues. And last to talk about the Chinese plans of occupying Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh may be it is a speculation but there are fair chances of happening of the same. And finally the extreme weather conditions add to the peoples banes.
Now coming to the steps that are needed to bring the state from the point of saturation to a normal state are below. These are solely my ideas and when I am writing these I am not a kashmiri. As I am really not one. These are the only ideas those my little brain thought and may be some of them would be fallacious and some would be specious but as a responsible citizen of india and a lover of Kashmir I thought I need to express my ideas. The people are my target that means my ideas are to be roped in by the people of Kashmir for their good and I am not at all interested in giving suggestions to political wizards. The people should have fortitude, endurance and they should practice continence. These are the easiest words one can utter and the toughest things one can practice. This is the apt solution for us Indians because we are a nation which achieved its independence with the help of the greatest weapons the world has ever seen…PEACE and NON VOILENCE. But how can one use these weapons now? This can only be done with true education..the people are influenced by some ghosts to fight for a separate nation. But when Kashmir becomes a separate nation there will be more problems to its people than the number of advantages they enjoy. Because it will be a small nation between three powerful nuclear nations surrounding it and there would be no security. And also the division of a state from a union like India is not going to help it in any way. Also the idea of dividing the nation on communal basis does no good as we can see the direct example of the muslims in POK who are being tortured on the basis of sect. so I think Kashmir will be well off with india a secular state than with a religious Pakistan or with a socialist nation like china. And the separatism can be subdued only by treating human beings in Kashmir as human beings and any one who are trying to macabre them, torture them should be brought under law with out any prejudices to any one. Even the army men should be subjected to jurisdiction except during emergency and the emergency also should be genuinely justified. My dear army men you are the most highly respected people in the nation for your unselfish work but please think as a human before thinking as an official when you are fighting against innocent Indians. This is a request from an unknown person but definitely from your fellow Indian brother. Killing your enemy is justice but killing the people who trust you is a crime. A very big crime indeed. And after writing all these I can only say one thing still there is only one way out and it is PEACE and PEACE alone that can help us from our perennial problems. My brethren, kashmiris the best gift that we got from our freedom fighters is the weapon of nonviolence. Fight ,fight with nonviolence. That will help you. Will hurling thrones help you? Please think before u act. Thinking for a minute may help you save a life. After writing all these I want to confess one thing that I am a hypocrite  that means I am not following what I have written and as of now I am also trying to change myself. Let the heavens listen to our problems and help us resolve them…..
So I am not a kashmiri but an Indian.
